I’ve deactivated all my social media accounts—LinkedIn, Instagram, and all the other noise. I thought maybe you’d reach out, but hey, I know you have some serious scrolling to do.
It actually makes me really happy that you’re taking a break from your own doomscrolling to read this. Trust me, I’d love nothing more than to inspire you to get up and create something. But let’s be honest—I’m only doing it for selfish reasons. I’m hoping that whatever you create might just light a spark in me, too.
The air is thick with lethargic carcinogens, enough to push me, Thing 1, Thing 2, and Thing 3 into some forward motion. I was starting to worry about turning into a couch potato, so I took matters into my own hands—I sold the couch. Sorry, no crashing on it anymore, but I do have a nifty tri-fold Japanese foam bed that’s surprisingly comfortable. We can still sip freshly roasted coffee from the French press and watch the seasons change, though, especially now as fall starts to creep in.
I once told a friend that I only trust nature and death. But now? You can’t even trust nature. The lilac bushes have started blooming again in October. Nature is confused. Read that again.
But hey, don’t be so hard on yourself. Even Mother Nature has no idea WTF is going on anymore. So, if you do happen to send me a postcard, I’ll be more excited than 4-year-old me getting a shirt from Kmart for Christmas. (Yeah, I was thatkid.)
About 18 months ago, I decided to make my life less digital. And slowly, it’s coming together. ChatGPT has been surprisingly helpful in figuring out ways to minimize my digital intake. (Yes, irony noted.) Speaking of which, did you hear iPods are making a comeback? Seriously. Time to dig those suckers out of the boxes in your basement. You can even hack them to stream music and ensure artists still don’t get paid.
I had the U2 black and red iPod when I was living in BKK, Thailand. Remember when U2 albums came preloaded, and everyone was furious about it? Yeah… what did happen to U2?
I have recently been looking into the I Ching and after that the Tao. I find this site very inspiring every morning. I hope that it gives you the same amount of solace.

Dear Mister Anal-OG. I so enjoy these vintage pics. Was that K Mart shirt a Garanimal? Look for my smoke signal soon
