Hello, Stackrz. (Wow, that already sounds outdated—like flip phones or Myspace top 8s.)
Big news: I’m changing the name of this Substack from Lions, Tigers & Badgers, Oh My! to Notes from the In-Between.
Why? Because when I started this, I just needed to get the stories out of my head before they staged a full-blown coup in there. People kept telling me, “You should write a book,” which feels as daunting as trying to track my daily calorie intake. Then a friend told me about Substack, and it seemed like the perfect place to let these stories breathe—and maybe stop haunting me at 3 AM.
But, as life does, things have shifted. The storytelling continues (don’t worry, we’re still on the Lions, Tigers & Badgersadventure—we haven’t even left California yet, and things are about to get very interesting). But the bi-weekly dispatches have also evolved. The stories are no longer just a record of where I’ve been; they’ve become something else—something more fluid, more reflective.
Like Hesse’s Journey to the East, this isn’t just a linear tale of travel but a search for meaning woven into the everyday. It’s a collection of dispatches from the in-between spaces—the pauses, the transitions, the moments that don’t fit neatly into a narrative but still shape everything. So, the name should reflect that too.
I promise this won’t throw your world into chaos. (Well, no more than usual.) I may tag the old stories with LTB for clarity, but I trust you can handle the adjustment. You’re resilient. You survived the great Instagram algorithm changes of the 2020s. You got this.
See you in the In-Between, here are a few images with that pocket dispo lens I keep going on about.
Love & Light
